Who can Kinesiology help?

Kinesiology for NUTRITION:

Modern living has generally become unhealthy, with foods containing pesticides, flavourings, preservatives and colourings. Continued ingestion of these chemicals undoubtedly leads to health problems. Our bodies can become toxic. Nutritional problems may relate also to imbalance, where an individuals diet does not contain sufficient nutrients or vitamins to remain healthy. This can now happen easily when even eating what seems like a good healthy and varied diet.

This is because a lot of our foods are mass produced and often injected or sprayed with growth hormones, which can reduce and even remove the nutritional value within the food. Eating a balanced diet means you eat less, are not as often hungry and feeling healthier. Every individuals nutritional needs differ and through Kinesiology this information can be accessed.

Kinesiology techniques can be used to help identify specific nutritional weaknesses and sensitivities in the body and to detoxify the body using vitamins, minerals, herbs, homeopathy, flower essences etc. Nutrition does not always mean giving something extra, sometimes it means taking something away, for example any food that the person is allergic to or intolerant to.

Kinesiology for CHILDREN:

Kinesiology can be used effectively to help with various types of problems. Educational Kinesiology is used to help with learning difficulties, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, co-ordination problems, hyperactivity, aggressive behaviour etc. In Edu-K, the body and mind are viewed as one.

These difficulties can be improved by brain integration getting both the left and the right hemisphere of the brain to work simultaneously. Another very simple technique is by improving posture through Applied Kinesiology, and by using simple exercises, learning becomes fun as unnecessary stress is eliminated. Every child learns differently, Edu-K recognises this uniqueness and works with the specific needs of each child.

Kinesiology for STRESS:

We are all affected by stress. Whether we like it or not, stress is part of our lives. The ability to handle stress varies from person to person. If stress is not handled correctly, it can affect the body causing physical symptoms. Stress is one of the major causes of death across the world. Kinesiology techniques can be used to identify and deal effectively with all types of stress and emotional problems.

Everyone can benefit from the stress release from infancy through to old age. Fears, phobias, past and present trauma can all be dealt with. Even the stress of future events, for example exams, weddings, flights etc.

Our body's response to stress is natural, and has a vital part to play in our lives. The body uses a survival mechanism - the "Fight or Flight" response and is used by the body to direct resources (blood/energy) to parts of the body as needed. In our modern world we generally don't need to run fast from predators, but our bodies response is non-specific and reacts to modern stresses as if they were life threatening.

Physical problems such as stomach aches, indigestion and ulcers could be indicators of unresolved stress. Kinesiology can be used to confirm the cause of stress and to release it, enabling the person to deal with the problem more objectively.

Kinesiology for STRUCTURAL PROBLEMS:

Backache, tennis elbow, hamstring injury, pulled muscles and sports injuries are all examples of structural problems. Kinesiology techniques have helped many people with such problems to become completely well again. Using the principle of balancing, a complete range of muscles are tested and corrected. In addition to improvements in general posture, relevant meridians are also vitalised.

One of the commonest contributing factors to structural problems is bad posture, where the person assumes an unnatural position and so puts strain on the entire structural system. Fixing the muscles involved and thus correcting the posture obtain balance obtained again.

Kinesiology for PAIN RELIEF:

Unfortunately, pain plays a part in many peoples lives and can be caused by many problems including arthritis, back problems, sports or old injuries. Many kinesiology techniques are particularly beneficial for pain relief. Energy flows continuously around our bodies, 24 hours daily, where blockages may occur for all sorts of reasons. If not released, these blockages can lead to more serious illnesses. Kinesiology is suitable for all including the very young or old.

Kinesiology for GOOD HEALTH:

In an ideal world, nobody would ever get sick; however our modern lifestyle increases our likelihood of getting sick. The ever quickening pace of life, food additives, pollution, radiation of all kinds and our social structures all contribute to the wearing down of our physical and mental defences.

This is proved in the increase of heart disease and cancers, which are considered relatively "modern" diseases. People nowadays have to be more vigilant about their health and staying well. Diet, mental attitude and minding our body have never been as important as they are today.

In eastern parts of the world such as China, people go to their doctor to be kept well. Regular "balancing" visits help keep the body healthy and catch potential problems before they become real problems. An analogy of this is the regular servicing of a car. To keep cars running well, most people have them serviced regularly. Failing to service the car will eventually result in the car breaking down. We accept the logic of why car servicing is so important, however, we only visit our doctors when our body starts to break down, instead of going for a regular service to keep us well.

It is unfortunate that orthodox medical practitioners only expect visits only from sick people. Now, with a more open approach to good health, we understand that regular balancing sessions can help keep the body healthy and sickness free.
